Information architecture services

We have many years' experience in information architecture. We develop:

  • Metadata schemas
  • Taxonomies / controlled vocabularies / information retrieval thesauri
  • Document type lists
  • Records management file plans and retention schedules
  • Rules based and statistical classification engines
  • Complete enterprise information architectures, which may include a number of these products
  • Taxonomy localisation
  • Governance policies for information architecture

We often develop information architectures from scratch, using techniques such as persona development, task analysis and card sorts. We are experienced in running workshops and interviews to gather and refine the raw materials. We have experience in the use of focus groups and quantitative research.

We have used a wide range of information architecture tools. We also have a detailed understanding of how IA products should be integrated with line of business systems, including search and navigation, content, document and records management, and collaboration.

Our knowledge of enterprise architecture, requirements management and standards such as ITIL allows us to place information architecture in a broader IT management context.
