Information quality assessment
Information quality assessment is an important part of our work. The areas we look at include:
- Quality:
- Is information up-to-date? How often should it be refreshed? How often is it being refreshed?
- Is it complete?
- Is it uniform? Do all areas of the business have access to the same standard of information?
- Skills:
- How well do employees retrieve information? Do they take advantage of the range of information available?
- How well do employees contribute information? What can be done to improve the way in which they contribute, both in terms of the quality of the information and the way it is stored.
- Business impact:
- How well does information meet the needs of the business? Are these needs
accurately and completely stated? - What are the consequences of the identified issues? Is it possible to quantify these?
We use techniques adapted from the world of process improvement - in particular, capability maturity models.
